One of THE BEST fundraising events the 19-piece Compaq Big Band has ever been associated with was held in 2025 – the 'first annual' gala to benefit the Nashua Children's Home (NCH) in Nashua, New Hampshire. What an evening! The guests were glammed up, the stories of young women helped by the NCH beyond inspirational, and the generosity of the Greater Nashua community UNBELIEVABLE!
We're honored to be BACK on Saturday October 3rd, with vocalist Elizabeth Embser, for the NCH's 'Gatsby Gala' – A Roaring Good Time for a Great Cause! The gala is again being held at The Event Center by Marriott, located at 2200 Southwood Drive in Nashua, New Hampshire. There will be a cocktail hour with music provided by a jazz trio from the Compaq Big Band, hors d'ouvres, dinner & dessert, raffles, silent auction, live auction with a professional auctioneer, and inspirational stories from young women whose lives the Nashua Children's Home has been instrumental in turning around. The raffle and auction items are WONDERFUL, and the auctioneer, Michael Chambers of Chambers Auction Service, is TERRIFIC! There will – of course – be dancing to music by the full big band, including many tunes composed in the Roaring '20s/Great Gatsby era. Tickets are $125pp, with Tables of 10 offered for $1125. Since this gala soiree was THE place to be seen in the Greater Nashua area in '25, it SOLD OUT QUICKLY!
